Veronica is one of a handful of natures true blue flowers,
Also coming in white, lilac, and pink.

Introduced to Britain in the 19th century, Veronica is a perennial subshrub which now has more than 500 species and is related to the mint family. To be planted in Spring, Veronica flowers through the summer attracting pollinating insects and butterflies and grows up to 60cms tall.

The origins around the name of the flower are mixed, some believe that the name Veronica comes from the Latin word ‘Vera meaning true’ ‘icon meaning image’ true image the veil of Veronica the true representation of Jesus Christ. In medieval times Veronica a holy woman accompanied Jesus to the Calva so the word Veronica symbolized loyalty, fidelity ~ Faithfulness, belief and support...
