The Hyacinth is an early spring flowering perennial bulb, originating from the Mediterranean.

The word Hyacinth is said to come from a tragic love story and derives from the Greek name Hyacinthus.
Hyacinthus was one of Apollo's lovers. A divine Spartan prince who had caught the heart of Apollo the Greek God of fertility and life. He was also desired by Zephyrurs the Greek God of winds and they competed for his attention. Hyacinthus chose Apollo.

These beautifully perfumed bulbs with their densely packed bell like flowers are very versatile and can be planted in borders, flowerbeds and containers.
Plant the bulbs in autumn in a hole with a depth three times the length of the bulb.
