Caring for your flowers

  1. Firstly we remove all foliage below the water line. We do this to prevent bacteria forming as quickly, which would make the water dirty and affect the lifespan of your flowers.

  2. Cut the stems at a 45 degree angle. Many people do not know that the stem closes/seals after just a few minutes of being out of water so it is very important to recut the stems! The reason we cut the stems at an angle is so when the flowers stand in the vase the stems are not flat on the bottom of the glass and are able to feed.

  3. Positioning of your flowers is also very important. Display your flowers in a cool place away from direct sunlight so no window sills and away from the dry heat of central heating.

  4. Change the water regularly. You need to change the water every few days, wash the vase and clean with a little bleach to ensure you get rid of any bacteria that may have grown. Then refill the vase with room temperature water. (don't forget to trim the stems again! This should be done at every water change to prolong the life of your flowers.)

TIP… add a little soda water at every water change.

Flowers in our homes elevate our moods, they can reduce stress and some can even help you sleep with their mellow fragrances. We want you to get the most joy and use from your floral arrangement.
